Wrapping it Up

This week was awesome in that we did a lot of contacting in the heat of the day. We met and talked with a lot good people. We did an activity with the branch to find the less actives and talk with them and invite them to the Christmas activity. Yesterday I went to Millamapu with Elder Riding. Elder Riding will return home with me on the 29th of December.  We visited my investigators/converts and members in that ward.  It was great to see them all and a lot of fun. I was able to see almost everyone and they all remember me, so that made me happy. This morning we ate Subway. See you on Christmas Day (Skype session)

Villa Harding Green

Hello All,

This week was pretty crazy in the new area of Villa Harding Green of Bahia Blanca. As you know, I had served near this area before when I was in Millamapu at the beginning of my mission around a year and a half ago. I knew a lot of people here. One sister recongized me and went crazy when she saw me. She had thought I was already home. The area is good and the branch has like 70 active, so this area has the biggest branch/ward of all the areas in which I have served.

Eight missionaries sleep in our house and we sleep outside. It's fun but the bugs are eating me alive. Yesterday I woke up and couldn't feel my finger because of a spider bite. I was also sun burned real bad Wednesday when we were doing service.

Last Week in Tres Arroyos

Well I'm being transferred to Villa Harding Green in Bahia Blanca for my final three weeks of the mission. This works because this area is next to my first area so maybe I will be able to see some of my olds friends and aquaintences. I will be in a trio until the end to make it easier for President for this post-Christmas departure date. This last week was fun here in Tres Arroyos and I'm going to miss it a lot. We had Conference with President last tuesday it was great.

The christmas party will happen in 2 weeks.

Dia de Gracia

Hola.  This week was pretty fun and productive as we obtained over 30 contacts and we taught some aewsome lessons.  Two of our investigaters even agreed to pray. The work on our apartment is coming along and the plumbing is now finished.  Another worker is going to come today to clean the house up from all the construction.

For Thanksgiving we ate at home and had turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy.  We also ate a  lot of desserts like apple citter and we even drank Sparkling Cider. We have a Zone Conference tomorrow, so the assistants will be staying in our house tonight.

Summer Contacting and Moving

This week was good a little cooler, so that was good. We did a lot of contacting this week again. I have been feeling very nostigic for Spirit Lake with the hot weather and the sunscreen. Well, this week we had to switch apartments because they have to redo the piping in ours. So we moved next door and it was pretty easy. We were going to move to a really nice appartment but it was too far away. This new appartment smells bad. We had some good lessons this week, it was fun.
I really trying to focus on our investigaters so that they will go to church.

Contacting

Hello Everyone, This last week of missionary week was busy adn good. On Monday, for p-day, we played a lot of ping pong. On Tuesday it was raining hard. Wednesday we contacted a lot of people including Jehovah's Witnesses, that was fun. On Thursday another Jehovah's Witness let us into his home to talk to us about his beliefs.

We listened quietly for an hour or so, then we bore our testimonies and left. On Friday we were in a trio because Elder Gallard's companero was in a leadership meeting in Bahia. The day went well. On Saturday we worked into eight more contacts in the morning, one being a snake, that literally danced her way towards us, smiling. That was funny. Sunday we talked with a Adventista from Bolivia very nice, but only talked about Saturday as a religious point of doctrine. Last Night we had an Asado, super rico. In todo we had 23 contacts this week, meaning somebody that we talked to that accepted a return lesson.

Penmanship - pfft.

This week was really interesting as the days turn hotter. We taught some lessons with the members this week which was great and very helpful.  One day we got beckoned over by a drunk dude with whom we spoke for a bit. He wanted us to write on the his house "Amo a todo mi familia" (I love my whole family). I did it but he didn't like the way I wrote so he forcefully splashed my writing with his beer and then my companion wrote it in cursive and he liked that.

One day we ate 'Completos de Chile' and yesterday we got to hear from Elder Salas, the Area Seventy.

Hair Cut

Well, transfers came and I'm staying here with Elder McClicktock for at least another transfer period. The week of work went well. We taught some lessons with our investigators and we did service for Daniel moving a ton of bricks and other materials. We also received some nails and tools from a member in order to build some tables in our little house.

On Saturday, we cleared out a house, cleaned it and then we painted the interior. A real improvement and a lot of fun. This morning we made some lasagna. It turned out super good. We played an Argentine Risk game called T.E.G.

Our Investigators are good but then need to come to church.  We are really close with one.
I also got my hair cut.

Spring Blossoms of Flowers, Investigation, and Peanut Butter Cookies

Hello Everyone,

This week was good week albeit very rainy as we head through the early Spring weather. We taught quite a few lessons this week and found a great, new family. We ate lunch with a recent convert this week and she seems very English as we ate spaghetti and then ice cream for desert. Very rare and very good.

Yesterday was elder Gallard's birthday so we ate an asado on the roof of our building. We found peanut butter so we made peanut butter blossoms.

I got some pictures sent as well!

Spring in Argentina with Prospects

Well this week was good given that I healed up and felt recovered about Wednesday. I still had back pain and problems so I got a massage on Friday with the permission of Hermana Cifuentes.

It was interesting, but it helped I guess. We visited a lot of people this week that are progressing along well with their investigation of the Church. I'm excited. We are also heading into mission approved, short sleeve weather with Spring into Summer.

We continue to schedule service projects in the area and often setup follow-up appointments including lunch. I am always tired with all the walking. I feel that my time in the mission is going by faster and faster.

Saturday night we had a noche de hogar, it went super well, fun.

Pray for Doors and Minds to be Open

Hola Todos!

This week went well as we taught a lot of lessons and we found a lot of new people to teach. So overall a good, productive week. One time we were looking for a less active family and we knocked a house thinking that it was the location of this family. It wasn't.  The family let us in anyways. We taught them about what we do and then about the restoration and The Book of Mormon and we left a copy with them.

We also had one guy yell at us because we were Americans. Conference went well besides the fact that I was getting really sick and it was kind of hard to focus. I ended up with a really bad headache. I even threw up this morning, but I seem to be doing better now. I really like the talk by J. Devn Cornish.

Contacting and Serving

Hello Everyone,

I am writing late this week because of the national holiday yesterday in Argentina. Our p-day is today.

This week was great with a lot of contacting and meeting with members about the work. It was fun to get to know them. We even contacted into a girl from England and so we did the discussion in English. It was very different and cool. I may have been too giddy during the lesson.

For service this week we put in a second floor in a building and the work was very difficult. We had to saw the floor planks to the right length then nail them to the joists. The best part though was that it was for a contact that we did earlier in the week.  We have a lesson with him this week, he is super awesome.

I gave a talk on Sunday during sacrament and the members thought it was funny. Today we ate at a Pizza libre with some recent converts. I ate 14 slices :)

La Ciudad Tres Arroyos

Hola Todos,

This week was long because my companion and I arrived here new together and we are kind of opening up the area again. So we did A LOT of contacting. It was fun. We talked to the members in our area and they are nice. I played the piano yesterday during Sunday meetings. We also had a Branch (Rama) baptism on Saturday.

The apartment here in this area is nice. The branch is fairly big with about 50 members that actively attend. So in the City Tres Arroyos there are two branches and I am assigned to Rama 1. We walk everywhere and there is some distance to deal with. I am accustomed to it.

Well I hope you all have a good week

Last Week in Patagones

Hello,
I was transferred out of the Patagones area to Tres Arroyos with Elder McClintock. Because of traveling all day yesterday for the transfer, we have P-day today. Last Monday, in Patagones, we played basketball with some kids, at the gym atenas. On Tuesday, I played soccer with all the kids at the branch. That night Elder Frampton went to Bahia. Wednesday we handed out more then 200 invitation slips for English classes for Friday. A lot of people attempted to talk to me in English, it was fun.

Friday we went to the English clase and none of the people who we gave invitation to come, but some members and their friends came. Saturday we went to a basketball game of our investigator. We got the transfer call a 10 o'clock at night. Sunday I gave a talk about Jesus Christ and said goodbye to everyone. After church we went to a birthday party, super fun.

It was sad to leave, but I excited to be here in Tres Arroyos ... it's super nice.

Bahia Blanca - Visa Time

Hello everyone,

This last week I spent most of the time in Bahia Blanca with Elder Driggs who was my MTC companion. We traveled there to take care of Visa stuff. It was a fun week as we worked in Elder Driggs' first area, General Aries. I also was able to see Elder Tew and Elder Evanson from my MTC group. We went to Subway and McDonalds (only area in the mission to have those restaurants) and it was so good. I got a free Mcflurry.

I returned to my area on Thursday night. On Sunday our investigator come again and we plan on baptizing her this next Sunday. We also ate steak and potatoes for lunch and had a salad with ranch.

Well this will probably be my last week in Patagones as transfers are this coming Saturday.

Walking, Food, Sports, and the Work

This week was a good one with a lot of walking. Tuesday, we played soccer at the church and it was fun as I made a lot of goals. Wednesday, we had a lot of lessons and we ate hamburgers. Thursday we had a lesson with a part member family and we made brownies to share with them.  They had also made a pretty good cake. Saturday, we went to the Scout camp again to teach about the Mormons. It was an interesting experience and they had a lot of questions for us.

Sunday our investigator came to church again all by herself from Viedma.

We are going to try to play basketball today.

Scout Camp Again

Hola Todos,

We had a lot of great lessons with investigators and menos activos this week. We taught this guy that lives in the very corner of our area which is about three miles from our house.  We had to catch a bus to go to Viedma for a Zone Meeting after that discussion and we missed the bus and had to hail a taxi to catch the bus at another bus stop further down the route.  We arrived at the bus stop on time to catch the bus and made it to the Zone Meeting in Viedma.

On Saturday, we went to a Scout thing to teach during their spiritual moment event because some less actives were in attendance. Well, we got there and because of the holiday Dia del Niño they didn´t have a spiritual moment.  We ended up still talking to the boss man about who we are and he liked it and invited us to the meeting next Saturday. Sunday we had one of our investigators show up again to church. It was awesome and I gave a talk about the Atonement and the Holy Ghost.

Today we went to the mar again for P-day de Zona, it was fun, I skipped a lot of rocks again.

Thanks for all the support

The 80th Week -

Dear Family and Friends,

This last week went super well as we ended up getting somebody to come to church again. This investigator is a good guy and has many questions about religion. Wednesday we had interviews with the President and they went well. We also got new beds for our house this week. They are really nice beds. The hermanas also got beds so we had to take beds back and forth between our houses. President Cifuentes come to our church again yesterday to talk to the members about the need to stop gossiping. A great Sunday. Today we went to Viedma to play fĂștbol with the other elders.

I'm good

Solid Week of Work

Hello Everyone,

This week went super well as we contacted like mad and on Monday night we found a really nice old lady which led to a follow-up appointment on Thursday where we taught her with a member.  She attended church on Sunday.

We played football Tuesday night and it was super fun. I think I scored like three goals. We also had some good meals this week including tacos and hamburgers. We had 45 people at church on Sunday which is like ten more than usual. It was awesome.

I had to play my least favorite song, Jesus is my light, so hard to play. Well I hope your week went well.

Companions Three

Well transfers happened and I staying in the area for now. I am in a trio with Elder Frampton and Elder Baldwin which usually means that something will happen in the middle of the transfer. I will probably go. Last week went by slow because of transfers. We also had a lot of activities at the church including two noche de hogares y un noche de pelĂculas. Fue bueno.
Right now I feel pretty sick with a runny nose and sore throat. I will try to drink more wĂĄter. Well I hope all is well with you all and remember that the grace of God is real.

Heat in the Cold

This week was great. We started off teaching somebody that I haven't seen in a long time. This investigator said that the day we knocked on her door she had been praying for help and that's when we knocked.
We had a great lesson. It rained a bit this week and it was pretty cold overall. We had some success with contacting. We played basketball again with our investigators at a gym indoors, it was really fun, it got me excited for the upcoming byu basketball season this year. This last Sunday we did the sacrament in the other side of the church because the heaters in the sacrament room are broken.
I hope all is well with you guys

Working, Visiting, Discussing, and Expanding Upon

Hello Everyone,

This week was pretty crazy but cool. The sister missionaries in Viedma were emergency transferred into the area and they took the other elder house and those elders went to another part of Viedma. We contacted like crazy this week meeting some great people. We were stopped by quite a few drunks and we tried to talk with them a bit.  We assured them that no, we didn't want to fight the whole time. It was fun.

We visited a lot of members this week as well and discussed the missionary work and family involvement in the work. On Sunday, President Cifuentes made a surprise visit to our church which made playing the piano a little bit more nerve racking. He was in a meeting the night before in Viedma.

Un Buen Trabajo

The weeks are passing very quickly as this week was awesome in that we had a lot of fun. Monday, we had a great p-day playing basketball. On Tuesday, I went on divisions with Elder Eufasio. Wednesday was service day and on Thursday we got a call from the branch president that some shopping carts and a dog were in the church grounds so we took care of that situation.  During that job some guys came and wanted to play basketball and soccer.  They were really good. We taught a lady that had a dream about the Pearl of Great Price.

Friday I went on divisions with Elder Driggs (Brock's MTC companion) and that was cool. I went to Viedma for that one. Saturday was the big day in that we had a baptism of Guadalupe and then an activity of the Independence of Argentina and then we had our activity of the night of movies. Our investigator and her family went to all three :) and we were able to give her a triple. Oh, yea, I aslo gave a talk on Sunday about Zion.

Great Week

It was a long week with a Zone Conference right in the middle of it. The work this week was good and one of my favorites actually. Very fun. We talked to a lot of members this week and we heard a lot of gossip, so not good on that end but we tried to calm them down and bring peace to their minds and hearts. We still have some work to do with the members.

We had a great lesson with our investigators J and A. and they are making some real progress. Well I will try to do something American today on the 4th. I am glad that you guys have finally made it to Utah.

End of June Post

June 27, 2016

Hola Everyone,

This week was fun with the whole Copa América going on and related activities (soccer is serious). We had a good week of contacting and teaching. There are a lot of interesting people with strange habits in our teaching pool and within the city ... it is always fun to get to know them. I was able to use my computer know-how this week as well. I wiped a computer of it's viruses and stuff but a crazy kid who needed attention was on us the whole time and he almost stabbed my comp.

The movie night this week went real well. We brought like 10 kids and I was a little nervous for their safety but all went well.

Transfer Time

Another transfer has come and gone and I am staying in Patagones. I will receive a new companion, Elder Frampton from Pennsylvania. I met Elder Frampton earlier in the mission in the Santa Rosa zone. He is a really nice kid. The missionary work went well this past week with Elder Sandoval, as always. We did a lot of contacting and on Saturday I went on a division with Elder Evanson and we went to the house of an ex-testigo de Jehova. They were throwing a party and having a little bible study, so we decided to crash it. Their house is an old hotel, it's super awesome, well we had a lot of fun there, and we were able to teach a little, too. Well I hope the move goes well.

Activities and the Atlantic Ocean

The week was awesome as we worked a lot and had a lot of fun. The Sabado activity was super successful and fun. Sunday there was a dinner party and we eat a lot of Asado que fue super rico. It reminded me of home ward parties. This morning, on p-day, we went traveled to the Atlantic Ocean to a place they call it La Boca, where the river flows into the ocean. We left really early at 4:30 a.m. and when we got there it was still dark so we were able to see the beautiful sun rise. the entire beach was so cool.

I was so excited that I ran super fast all the way to the shore, took some photos, and then stripped off my shoes and socks, and ran in. It was sooo cold I lasted like a minute and got out. I then thought to take more pictures and I then realized that my camera wasn't in my pocket. I thought maybe it's by my shoes, but no. I then realized it fell into the ocean. The camera had fallen out of my pocket without me realizing it.  I must of been just to excited, so yeah my camera is now in the Atlantic Ocean.

Well I still wanted to have fun so I ran back in with Elder Evanson. We then decided to run a each other and do one of those jump and hug things (you know, to be funny). Well, I jumped into his arms and then things went bad fast. I fell into the ocean right onto my back getting completely wet. It was so cold. I got out quickly and talked with the others and decided to change into some new underwear and some long johns that Elder Satterfield had with him, the long johns were basically black leggings. So I changed my clothes getting sand everywhere :-|. We almost had a problem with the hermanas. After that things went smoothly enough. We played football on the beach and skipped rocks and looked at stuff, so yeah a really fun day in the end.

Contacting in the Cold

Hello Everyone,

This last week started slow because of all the rain and cold but in the end it was awesome. Our investigators came to the activity again and we watched The Restoration and they cried. They are making some real progress. Yesterday, Elder Sandoval and I went crazy contacting as we contacted for four hours straight. We found a lot of nothing, but in the end we met an awesome family where the mom came out and talked with us for a good while. She is an X Jehovah Witness, and she loves the bible.

I hope all is well and that the move goes well, but I glad I here and not there to help with all of that :)

The Testaments - Walking the Walk

Hello All.
This week was good and we got some of our investigators to come to an activity within the barrio. We watched the movie The Testaments.  The investigators liked the movie and thought is was very well done. We did pretty good this week contacting and teaching lessons. We also found some less actives in our area.

I did divisions (splits) this last week with Elder Satterfield who is from the area that Garrett is serving in right now (Fairview, TN).  So that was fun.  I hope everything is good at home, I pray for you all every night.

Everyday Miracles - mas de 17

Hey all,

This week was good. We played soccer and basketball and I slipped and fell in both sports. It was fun. I went on divisions with Elder Driggs (my MTC companion). It went well but it was really muddy.

Elder Sandoval and I taught a lot of lessons this week, some were very powerful, strong in the Spirit. At one cita we gave a blessing at the end of the discussion. Saturday we had a movie night at the church where we watched 17 Miracles. Sunday I was sitting and listening to the talks and then the branch president states, out of the blue, that we are singing Haz tu lo Justo, and I have to play piano. He does that a lot so it keeps me on my toes.

All is well with me and thanks for everything.

I am happy because I like it here and we still have a lot of work to do. Elder Driggs is coming here to be the Zone Leader, so that's cool. Well I don't have much to say, but I will see you this Sunday, I am excited for that.

Tacos, Futbal, guitar, and Missionary Work

Hey Guys,

I am in Viedma today to spend my p-day here with the Elders. This last week went well, of course, we found a lot of new people or that have already talked to missionaries. We made tacos for an inactive family and they turned out really well given that they were from scratch. Later we had a good lesson with that family.

I was able to hear my companion play the guitar and he is super good --- he played the Mario theme. We played soccer Tuesday and I did well.  I scored an insane goal and everybody went nuts. It was awesome. We also played american football after.

Everything is going well and this is the last week of the transfer - already. And the President has changed our p-day back to Mondays :-).

I heard my package is in Bahia.

Usados Zapatos

Well this last week was very cold and rainy. I ended up wearing my pajamas under my pants. We had a really nice lesson with a family about how families are eternal. On Sunday we had a drunk guy come into our gospel principles class. It just happened to be my turn to teach, so it was very interesting and he just had to say the opening and closing prayer or he would scream.

We also had a nice lesson with contacted she had a lot of question, and she like our answers.

Tomorrow we are going to Viedma to do esfuerzas in the area of the hermanas.

Everything is good

La Obra Misional

Hey you all,

This week we did a lot of contacting again. We had a great lesson with Inez again and she will be baptized the 30th of April, We had interviews with El Presidente and they went well. We played fĂștbol at the church on Tuesday. It's quite crazy because the locals play like professionals and I am always goalie and with one of them coming at me, it's scary. We continue to work with the inactive members and we should be getting some of them to go church soon.

All six of us missionaries bore our testimonies is sacrament meeting. We also did something fun. We crossed the river in a boat. It was one of those old boats.
