Happenings - Bahia Blanca, Argentina

On Monday I lost my debit card and my white bible which meant I had to close down that account and order a new card. Hopefully it arrives. I also completed the 1kg ice cream challenge, pretty easy (cake walk or rather, ice cream walk). I practice the piano every p-day. It has been another fast week and transfer calls are this Saturday. I am pretty excited to know if I will move or not. We worked with the members a lot this week which is always good and we were able to reach out to a less-active family which we hope will become fully active in the gospel.

One night this week, after a lot of walking I was just starving and we decided to say hi to some members. They invited us inside and gave us some food. It was spaghetti, they just cooked the noodles then poured some cold red sauce and some half and half on the top. It was so good.

I also broke an Elder's cable on accident and he kind of freaked out a like bit.  So I was like calm done, I got this, and with the supplies around the house I was able to fix it. He was amazed. (Hay un foto en Dropbox).

Argentine News - Bahia Blanca, Argentina

Hola!
This was a good week. We were able to get mas-o-menos cinco dogs to follow us ... awesome. One the dogs that followed us attempted to bite me so I started to throw rocks at it (which is standard protocol for protection). My throws were done with deadly power and needless to say, the dog isn't following us anymore.

We did a lot of contacting this week and found good investigators. We are really trying to get the members involved and we hope to get some family home evenings set up this next week. On Sunday we were able to attend the new Cordoba Argentina temple dedication at the stake center via broadcast. It was a cool, spiritual experience and everyone was so happy and it just felt good being there sharing in the experience. I have been doing a lot of reading in my Spanish Book of Mormon and going back and forth between my English and my Spanish one it is really helping me with the language.

Alma 26
11 But Ammon said unto him: I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God.
12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.

Mother's Day Short - Bahia Blanca, Argentina

It was fun to Skype, and to see you. (Brock called in while we were at church so we talked to him while in the stake foyer area. He and his companion were at a member's home borrowing their laptop and network connection.) This week went well with a lot of reactivating work and finding. We played ping-pong at the church which was fun and I was able to play the piano. We also wanted some popcorn and we were able to find it a little
store. We have been cleaning the house a ton lately because the APs came and were not happy with the way things looked. I know I don't have a lot to say, but I'm tired, we had a long night last night because the District leader came to our house at like 10:45, it was crazy. (to talk about what)

Espanol y dulce para todos - Bahia Blanca, Argentina

This was a good week.  I received your package and I already ate all the candy. I was willing to give some of the candy to a kid who never had eaten Reese's Pieces before. He liked it so much I ended giving him all my Reese's and Skittles.

Down here in the southern hemisphere the weather is turning cold and wet. I have fun though. This past week I needed to do my VISA papers to stay in the country past 90 days. This meant that I needed to stay at the AP's house and I ended up sleeping there Tuesday night. I had to get up around 5:00 a.m. to go to el centro and wait in a line for about dos horas. It was a long day with a lot of waiting, but in the end we were able to stop by Subway for a sandwich. The quality isn't as good, but still OK.

My Spanish still seems to be skyrocketing, to me at least.  I had two investigators basically trying to convince me that my Spanish is coming along and I can understand a lot, but I really understood only like half of what they were saying.

I went on splits with the district leader last night and didn't get home until like 10.
