Transfer to Patagones in the Viedma District

Hola familia y amigos esta semana fue muy larga.

I was transferred to Patagones C in the Viedma zone where I have been assigned to work with Elder Sandoval from Peru (He is from the more rural, jungle area). I arrived in Viedma and the Zone Leaders were not there to pick me up at the bus station. I waited an hour before asking someone if I could borrow their phone to call. I called the Assistants and they called the Zone Leaders.  They came and picked me up and we traveled across the river to Patagones.

The missionary house/apartment in Patagones is the dirtiest house I have seen in my mission. My companion and I spent all Wednesday cleaning. One room was full of garbage that was about a foot or two high. We had to clean it that day because the other Elders that are living with us were arriving that evening. We got it all cleaned and setup for them, after a lot of work and gauging. I even found a giant, dead rat. Todo esta bien ahora.

I doing good I like my room in the house. I like the area. There is a river that runs between Patagones and Viedma ... super view.

Love,

Some Are Past Feeling and Some Are Confused

Hello Everyone,

I hope everything is well with you all. This week was good and long. We had a contact this week that seemed super good and so we made a return date and when we came we found him with his pastor and friend. They were ready to attack ... so yeah not the most fun thing to happen. First, they attacked the Godhead, then The Book of Mormon, and then the restoration. We answered their questions calmly and carefully, but they were "past feeling".  We did have some good lessons this week and we put some dates for baptisms. One couple is going to get married on the 29th of April and baptized the next day.

Transfers are this weekend I am probably going, since I've been here in General Acha - Santa Rosa Zone for the past 6 months.

All is well,
Elder Blazzard

Bonus points if you can guess where "past feeling" is from.

Ward Conference

Hello, this last week was fun in that we did a lot of contacting, finding tons of great people to teach. There was this grandma that couldn't get over how 'pretty' we were ... so that was nice. Last Sunday was ward conference and 54 people showed up which is way above average. It was great and we had a get together afterwards where the bishop bought us sandwiches. I am in Santa Rosa right today (Thursday), for p-day and we are going to play some games and eat at the park today.

I'm doing good, getting excited for Packer and eating alright.

Thanks for the support.

Missionary Work in the Field

This past Monday, while traveling by bus at night for two hours from General Acha to Santa Rosa up north to a zone conference,  I thought about how crazy all of this is, in the middle of nowhere, far from home, across the world (in another hemisphere where they are heading into Fall type weather), and traveling these roads. It brought a smile to my face. I have been making this trip weekly for about five months now.

We are doing really well, finding a lot of new people to teach. We turned our contacting into a game where we try to say some word in English during our introductory presentation/approach. The process was really motivating. It is crazy to think about all the things that I have seen, some really crazy stuff, but don't worry I keep my head up and I'm a big guy down here. :)

Alma 48:17

17 Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.

Chaucito,

A voice of gladness!

Hello! This past week was good in that we did a lot of contacting. We baked cookies and brought them to some members and to our investigators. We are teaching two really great families right now and  a a guy with whom we set a baptism date this past week. We are doing good and working hard. I made a budget this week and I should be able to make it is time ... I hope.

Thanks for all the support it is great.

D&C 128 19-22

19 Now, what do we hear in the gospel which we have received? A voice of gladness! A voice of mercy from heaven; and a voice of truth out of the earth; glad tidings for the dead; a voice of gladness for the living and the dead; glad tidings of great joy. How beautiful upon themountains are the feet of those that bring glad tidings ofgood things, and that say unto Zion: Behold, thy Godreigneth! As the dews of Carmel, so shall the knowledge ofGod descend upon them!

20 And again, what do we hear? Glad tidings from Cumorah! Moroni, an angel from heaven, declaring thefulfilment of the prophetsthe book to be revealed. Avoice of the Lord in the wilderness of Fayette, Senecacounty, declaring the three witnesses to bear record of thebook! The voice of Michael on the banks of theSusquehanna, detecting the devil when he appeared as anangel of light! The voice of Peter, James, and John in thewilderness between Harmony, Susquehanna county, andColesville, Broome county, on the Susquehanna river, declaring themselves as possessing the keys of thekingdom, and of the dispensation of the fulness of times!

21 And again, the voice of God in the chamber of oldFather Whitmer, in Fayette, Seneca county, and at sundry times, and in divers places through all the travels and tribulations of this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! And the voice of Michael, the archangel; the voice of Gabriel, and of Raphael, and of divers angels, from Michael or Adam down to the present time, all declaring their dispensation, their rights, their keys, their honors, their majesty and glory, and the power of their priesthood;giving line upon line, precept upon precept; here a little, and there a little; giving us consolation by holding forth that which is to come, confirming our hope!

22 Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Goforward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, onto the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedinglyglad. Let the earth break forth into singing. Let the deadspeak forth anthems of eternal praise to the KingImmanuel, who hath ordained, before the world was, thatwhich would enable us to redeem them out of their prison;for the prisoners shall go free.
