Week 24 - Millamapu, Bahia Blanca, Argentina

MTC Comprades Reunion July 2015
Hey, we received our transfers calls last Saturday and I am ... ... staying!!! Yeah I know soooo exciting, no it is good, because we just were blessed to have investigators come to church. Yeah, we had a whole family come to services and it was awesome. We did lots of service this week, like cutting wood, picking up dog poop and construction. We worked with some members this week which was fun and good.

On Thursday we celebrated the 9 of July independence day here for Argentina, we went to the church played fútbol, ate torta frita, and talked with our investigators that showed up, we even showed them the pila bautismal. We are going to play Volleyball in White Bay today, should be fun
because I own at Volleyball.

1 O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mineheart, that
I might go forth and speak with the trump ofGod, with a voice to shake
the earth, and cry repentanceunto every people!

2 Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice ofthunder,
repentance and the plan of redemption, that theyshould repent and come
unto our God, that there mightnot be more sorrow upon all the face of
the earth.

3 But behold, I am a man, and do sin in my wish; for Iought to be
content with the things which the Lord hathallotted unto me.

4 I ought not to harrow up in my desires the firm decree ofa just
God, for I know that he granteth unto men accordingto their desire,
whether it be unto death or unto life; yea, Iknow that he allotteth
unto men, yea, decreeth unto themdecrees which are unalterable,
according to their wills, whether they be unto salvation or unto
destruction.

5 Yea, and I know that good and evil have come before allmen; he that
knoweth not good from evil is blameless; buthe that knoweth good and
evil, to him it is given accordingto his desires, whether he desireth
good or evil, life ordeath, joy or remorse of conscience.

6 Now, seeing that I know these things, why should I desire more than
to perform the work to which I have been called?

Week 23 - Bahia Blanca, Argentina

This was a good week. We found an awesome family and they had a lot of good questions about the restored gospel and about the United States. When we asked if they would go to church their daughter said, "!Yo quiero ir!". It was pretty cool.

The Copa America was going on this week and the final was between Argentina and Chile. During the game everything seemed to shut down and the streets were empty, except for the dogs of course.  Nobody wanted to talk, it stunk, and Argentina lost. :-(

We are going to Bamboo today with the zone. Its a all you can eat restuarante.

Yesterday I bore my testimony about my decision to serve a mission and I believe it went well.

Week 22 - Millamapu, Bahia Blanca, Argentina

from Kathleen Chronister
The mission said goodbye to the Mission President and his wife (Manuel Parreño Ruiz, 57, and María Magdalena Piñol Ruiz Parreño) today. The day was long but fun as I was able to see Elder Driggs, Hermana Child and Hermana Winn (MTC) at the send off event. I even saw Elder Howlett from my BYU ward.

Newly assigned mission president and sister.

Lots of contacting this week.with success.  We were able to help a man push a tree over and then we asked him to go to church, and he said Yes.

I ate good this week I might of gained some weight this week, but everyone says I look so skinny, so yeah that makes me feel good.

Remember who you are, and the potential you have.

Week 21 - Millamapu, Bahia Blanca, Argentina

This week was a good one starting off with a fiesta at a member's house in Village Harding Green. We ate a very good meal of chicken and potatoes. I even managed to fix her phone. This week we also were able to meet our goal for new investigators, so that was good.

Dogs, man I still hate dogs, during my first transfer I met the homeless dog "Spot".  He is the worst dog ever because he fights with every other dog in the street. We have thrown rocks and kicked him, but he still follows us. Well, this week, my companion kicked him hard and even picked him up to throw him to stop him from fighting with a contact's dogs.

The work is going well, and I pray for you all daily that the spirit will be with you, because without it, life isn't as good, I can personal testify of that.

Some facts about Elder Blazzard's area of Millamapu:
There are 30-50 members in the branch. The weather is cold in the mornings, evenings and throughout the night, but midday is good.
It has rained a lot during Marzo and Abril, but now not much.
His companion is from the states and has been raised in the church.
His clothes are good my shoes too.
Each day they visit their investigators and make contact in between, going to houses here and there and then every person on the street.
The other companionship in the house is Elder Lopez from Panama (speaks English as well) and Elder Carroles from Mexico (who can only speak Spanish).

Short and Sweet - Bahia Blanca, Argentina

Well the weather is getting very cold here in Argentina.  The wind blows a lot and the air is very, very cold. I glad to hear the wedding (Derek and Gabby) went well. It was a very busy week of missionary work here in our area which means a lot of walking. Each day we walk all over our area to get to all of our investigators and we try to find new investigators along the way and in between appointments. What is really stressful is getting our investigators to go to church.

We have a fiesta today with a member in Villa Harding Green with the other Elders in our house. Those elders are Elder Lopez, from Panama, and Elder Carroles, from Mexico.

19 - Millamapu, Bahia Blanca, Argentina

It was another good week with lots of missionary work. We attempted to contact a lot of investigators and less-actives this week and I enjoyed it at the beginning. Later, the more we contacted during the siesta hours, the more people starting yelling at us ... yeah, weird, I know.  Well one day after contacting for hours, with no success, I was just tired, but I knew that we needed to just keep going and work. Eventually we were able to set four (4) baptism dates that same day.

In other news I almost caught the house on fire. You remember that thing I made last week. Well the wires touched while it was plugged in and burnt a golf ball sized hole in my towel. I was laying in bed and smelt something, like when you fry a computer, and I knew that smell and jumped up.

Yo espero que todas las cosas van bien esta semana, Yo oro cada dia por ustedes.

Millamapu, Bahia Blanca, Argentina

Hello Everyone,

I'm staying in Millamapu for at least another transfer. There are about 40 active member in this branch. We have a lot of investigators that are close to being baptized, so that is exciting. I am still losing weight and I'm now feeling it and have a lot more energy. I was glad to hear that I'm staying because I love the people here and I didn't want to have to pack. We get a lot of people stop and listen, because we're American and they like to hear my Spanish. For example, one time I went up to a women and said 'Como le ve' and it's supposed to be 'Como le va'. oops

Another time I go up to this guy and ask which street is L. Agote, He tells me, but just has the weirdest face on, so I ask my companion if I asked it wrong, My companion tells me I said it right it just had a very American accent.
